Roman Times

Delivery in Roman times consisted on several different things. There were five canons that were involved here. They are invention, arrangement, style and memory. The rise of the internet and different ways of delivering information, these canons have been somewhat lost on the current age. Body and identity involves the representations of the body, gestures, voice, dress and image. The body plays a key role in the face-to-face oral delivery in the way that people communicated their ideas to people in the Roman times. I think that you still to this day have to consider facial expressions in speaking with people in the modern era. Addressing and being aware of the communication which is being given by the body and face, it just as important in today’s speech, and way of communicating, as it had been in the times the Romans, and really any time or place in the history of this world. It affected writing and speaking in the days of the Romans, because people would at first listen to the words that you say, or pay close attention to the words that you way write, but they also are looking at your haircut, because that determines something about you, they look at how you dress, because that also speaks something about you, and your attitudes what various things will also communicate different things to people, and they will perceive you in a certain way based upon all of these outside clues that they have collected as you either speak, or write something. These things also pertain to communication in our day as well. People on your Twitter account are reading what your opinion about various things going on in the world might be, and they are at the same time checking out how you look on your profile picture in the very same way in which a Roman would look at a person’s hairstyle or clothing to make further opinions about you in terms of upbringing or perhaps your hairstyle will indicate what your basic belief systems are. If you color your hair bright green in your Twitter profile, people will think different of you verses if you felt your hair your natural color. Have you had to alter your image in order to fit into a certain group of either friends or workpeople?
